Creative Video Storytelling for SequestStar

A still from our recent storytelling video of an image of Lake Ontario from the International Space Station.
Our latest project involved creating a compelling storytelling video that showcases the innovative work SequestStar is doing to combat climate change by leveraging the power of nature’s smallest but most efficient carbon-capturing organism—microalgae. This unique project was an exciting opportunity to combine our passion for environmental storytelling with cutting-edge science, creating a narrative that would resonate with both experts and the general public.

The filmmaking process took us to multiple locations across Maryland and Baltimore, where we captured in-depth interviews with SequestStar’s team of scientists and environmentalists, as well as staged dynamic b-roll footage. Each filming day was meticulously planned to maximize efficiency, capturing a wide variety of visuals while accommodating the busy schedules of our interviewees. Whether we were on a research site or at a cultivation facility, our goal was to visually represent the intricate process of carbon sequestration in a way that connected with viewers on an emotional level.

This collaborative process between teams ensured SequestStar’s mission was clearly communicated to potential investors, environmentalists, and the scientific community, while also creating a piece that emotionally resonated with a broader audience. The reason we love storytelling videos so much is because they blend stunning visuals, engaging interviews, and powerful narrative together into a small, consumable piece of media. In the case of SequestStar, their video successfully introduced their team to the world, and brought the importance of carbon sequestration through microalgae to the forefront of environmental activism awareness.
